Check the model number on the back of the watch and on the back of the box that the watch came in. Some fake watches won’t have a model number but all authentic Casio’s will. Buy the Casio watch from a reputable place. Online stores and eBay are common places where fake ones are sold.
Please carefully inspect the original warranty card if it has been photographed for any spelling, logo, spacing, or date mistakes. Check to see if the word “Casio” is printed on the watch’s face. Many fake watches feature the brand name, like G-Shock or Pathfinder, but not the Casio manufacturer’s name. I see a lot of post asking if watches are fake a lot of which retail for under 30.00 USD like the f91w and the h217. Maybe I'm privileged enough not to come across the fakes in my area but the amount of questions about them makes me wonder just how common they are.
I have also reported fake coins, and Ebay does nothing. To me a vintage Seiko Pogue with an am dial, is at best a parts watch, but closer to a fake, yet Ebay allows them in their authentication service.
